We still have two incredible pieces of reimagined box art to share with you before the Year of Lara draws to a close…
In celebration of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Mexico-based illustrator Monserrat 'Monster Draw' Martell offered this beautiful take on Lara’s journey through the deadly Yucatán Peninsula.
Here's Martell's approach to the piece, in their own words:
"I made the cover of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light by referencing the contrasting colors that the story has, which are primarily blue and orange. That notorious play of light along the adventure is extremely visually charming, so I wanted to include it to create a similar atmosphere in illustration. Guardian of Light is commonly played co-op and companionship is important, the support of one another, which is why both characters appear as protagonists in the illustration. To frame the characters, I designed a background that takes us back to where the story setting - Mexico with its pyramids and part of one of the story journals. I hope you enjoy this game as much as I do.”
Don't forget to print this one out and give your game case a new look!
This piece joins the rest in our box art reimagining series in our upcoming print sale. We’ll have more details on that soon!
